How to set up Postiz for WordPress in Perplexity Computer

Setup takes two steps: add Postiz as a custom MCP connector in Perplexity (OAuth, no API key) or install the Postiz CLI skill, then connect your WordPress account in Postiz. After that, you just ask.

WordPress enforces a few rules on every post. Postiz exposes them as settings, and Perplexity Computer applies them, but knowing them helps you phrase the request.

✓type is required and must be post or page; pages are not listed in your blog feed.
✓The title is required and must be at least 2 characters.
✓main_image is the featured image and expects an uploaded file (id and path); Computer uploads it through Postiz.
✓Connect the WordPress site in Postiz first; Computer can only publish to sites that appear as Postiz channels.

How does Computer set the featured image on a WordPress post?

Mention the image file or ask Computer to generate one. It uploads the image through Postiz and passes the returned id and path in main_image, which WordPress uses as the featured image. If you skip the image, the post publishes without one.

Do I need a Postiz API key to publish WordPress content from Computer?

Not with the MCP connector. Perplexity signs in to Postiz over OAuth with your own account, so Computer only uses the WordPress site you connected. The CLI skill path (npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent) is the alternative and reads POSTIZ_API_KEY from Computer's sandbox environment.

Can Computer publish to WordPress and then share the post on social media?
