Perplexity Computer can schedule and publish Dev.to articles through Postiz. # Option B: Postiz CLI skill in Computer's sandbox
npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent
export POSTIZ_API_KEY=your_api_key

# Then just ask Perplexity Computer:
> Publish tutorial.md to Dev.to with cover.png, tags
typescript, testing, canonical to our blog, tomorrow 8am

Perplexity Computer: Done. Article scheduled on Dev.to
for tomorrow at 8:00 AM with cover image and 2 tags.

How Postiz Works with Perplexity Computer

  • ✓Add the Postiz MCP connector in Perplexity (OAuth), or install the Postiz CLI skill
  • ✓Every Computer task can call the Postiz tools once the connector is added
  • ✓Tasks are decomposed across specialized sub-agents
  • ✓Each sub-agent picks the best model for its subtask
  • ✓Results are delivered end-to-end with verification

Also Works with Claude Code

Postiz works with any AI agent that can run commands or call MCP tools — you ask, the agent does the work. That includes Anthropic's Claude Code.

C

Claude Code

by Anthropic

Claude reads the Postiz skill so it knows what it can do, then autonomously discovers your Dev.to integration, uploads your cover image, applies tags and organization settings, and publishes the article.

Claude Code

> Publish my React tutorial to Dev.to
under our org with a cover image,
tag it with react and webdev

Claude: Done! Scheduled on Dev.to for
  tomorrow at 9:00 AM.

Dev.to + Other Platforms

Publish the same article to Dev.to and other platforms in a single request. Each platform gets its own settings.

Example

> Post "Excited to announce our new feature!" to
Dev.to and LinkedIn tomorrow at 9am, then schedule
a daily tip on Dev.to every weekday at 10am

Perplexity Computer: Done! Scheduled:
  - Dev.to + LinkedIn: tomorrow 9:00 AM
  - Daily tips on Dev.to: Mon-Fri 10:00 AM

What can you ask Perplexity Computer to do on Dev.to?

You can ask Perplexity Computer for anything Postiz can do on Dev.to: draft, schedule, publish, attach media, and set Dev.to-specific options. These are prompts people actually type.

You say

> Publish this post under our company organization
on Dev.to, tags: devops, kubernetes, tutorial

Computer reads the organization id from the Postiz settings and fills organization and the tags array.

You say

> Convert the README into a Dev.to article with a
short intro and a cover image from the assets folder

Computer writes the intro, keeps the Markdown, uploads the image through Postiz, and sets main_image.

You say

> Cross-post our latest engineering blog to Dev.to
with the canonical URL so we keep the SEO

Computer sets canonical to the original article URL and schedules the Dev.to copy.

Dev.to rules Perplexity Computer has to respect

Dev.to enforces a few rules on every post. Postiz exposes them as settings, and Perplexity Computer applies them, but knowing them helps you phrase the request.

  • ✓Dev.to allows a maximum of 4 tags per article; Computer trims extra tags rather than failing.
  • ✓The body is Markdown, so code blocks and headings carry over; the title must be at least 2 characters.
  • ✓main_image expects an uploaded file (id and path); Computer uploads the cover through Postiz first.
  • ✓Set canonical when syndicating so the original URL keeps search credit.
  • ✓organization takes the organization id from the Postiz settings and requires you to be a member.

Perplexity Computer and Dev.to: frequently asked questions

How do I publish to Dev.to from Perplexity Computer?

Add Postiz as a custom remote connector in Perplexity settings with the MCP URL https://mcp.postiz.com/mcp-oauth-dynamic and OAuth, and connect your Dev.to account in Postiz. Then ask Computer to publish an article. It fills the title, tags, cover image, canonical, and organization settings and creates the Postiz post.

Can Perplexity Computer post to Dev.to under my organization?

Yes. Mention the organization and Computer looks up its id in the Postiz Dev.to settings, then sets the organization field so the article appears under the organization page as well as your profile. You need to be a member of that organization on Dev.to for it to publish.

How many tags can Computer add to a Dev.to article?

Four. Dev.to caps articles at 4 tags, and the Postiz tags field takes up to four value and label pairs. If you list more, Computer keeps the four most relevant ones and tells you which it dropped. Popular, specific tags such as javascript or devops help the article reach the right readers.

Do I need a Dev.to API key or Postiz API key for this?

You connect Dev.to inside Postiz once; Computer never handles a Dev.to key. With the MCP connector, Perplexity signs in to Postiz over OAuth, so no Postiz API key is needed either. The CLI skill path is the exception and reads POSTIZ_API_KEY inside Computer's sandbox.

Can Computer syndicate the same article to Dev.to, Hashnode, and Medium?

Yes. Ask for all three and Computer creates one Postiz post per channel, mapping the shared Markdown to each platform's settings and setting the canonical URL on each copy. Hashnode also needs a publication and at least one tag, which Computer fills from your settings.
