Perplexity Computer can schedule and publish Hashnode blog posts through Postiz. Connect Postiz as a custom MCP connector in Perplexity or install the Postiz CLI skill, then hand Computer the article. It sets the title and subtitle, selects your publication and at least one tag, uploads a cover image, and sets the canonical URL when you are syndicating.

How to set up Postiz for Hashnode in Perplexity Computer

Setup takes two steps: add Postiz as a custom MCP connector in Perplexity (OAuth, no API key) or install the Postiz CLI skill, then connect your Hashnode account in Postiz. After that, you just ask.

Hashnode rules Perplexity Computer has to respect

Hashnode enforces a few rules on every post. Postiz exposes them as settings, and Perplexity Computer applies them, but knowing them helps you phrase the request.

✓publication is required; Computer reads the publication id from the Postiz settings.
✓At least one tag is required, and tags are Hashnode tag ids, not free text; Computer resolves names to ids.
✓The title must be at least 6 characters and the optional subtitle at least 2.
✓main_image needs an uploaded cover image (id and path); set canonical when republishing.

How do I publish to Hashnode from Perplexity Computer?

Add Postiz as a custom remote connector in Perplexity settings with the MCP URL https://mcp.postiz.com/mcp-oauth-dynamic and OAuth, and connect your Hashnode blog in Postiz. Then ask Computer to publish. It resolves your publication id and tag ids from the Postiz settings, fills the required fields, and schedules the post.

Why does Perplexity Computer ask about tags before posting to Hashnode?

Hashnode requires at least one tag on every post, and Postiz expects tag ids rather than plain words. Computer looks up matching tags in the Postiz Hashnode settings and, if your topic is ambiguous, shows you the candidates. Name the tags in your request and it fills them without asking.

Can Computer publish to a Hashnode team publication?

Yes. Every Hashnode post in Postiz targets a publication, whether it is your personal blog or a team one. Mention the publication and Computer picks the matching id from the settings. You need publishing rights in that publication for the post to go live.

Do I need a Postiz API key to publish Hashnode posts from Computer?

Not with the MCP connector. Perplexity signs in to Postiz over OAuth with your own account, so Computer only uses the Hashnode blog you connected. The CLI skill path (npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent) is the alternative and reads POSTIZ_API_KEY from Computer's sandbox environment.

Can Computer keep my site as the canonical source when it republishes on Hashnode?

Yes. Say canonical to our blog and Computer fills the canonical field with the original URL. Hashnode then signals to search engines that your site is the source, so republishing there brings readers without splitting ranking signals between the two copies.
