What should I know before posting to WordPress from NanoClaw?

WordPress has a few rules that Postiz enforces at publish time. NanoClaw applies them when you mention them in plain language, and asks when a required value is missing.

✓type is required: post for a blog post or page for a static page. Say which one you want or NanoClaw will ask.
✓title is required with at least 2 characters. The body can be markdown or HTML, which WordPress stores as post content.
✓The featured image (main_image) is uploaded through Postiz and passed as {id, path}. Images inside the body are separate from the featured image.
✓Postiz connects to your WordPress site with an application password. Categories and tags are not set through Postiz today; add them in WordPress if needed.

How do I publish to WordPress from NanoClaw?

Install the Postiz skill in NanoClaw with npx skills add gitroomhq/postiz-agent, run postiz auth:login, and connect your WordPress site in Postiz using an application password. Then send NanoClaw the content, title, post or page type, and time. It creates the item through Postiz and confirms.

Can NanoClaw create WordPress pages as well as posts?

Yes. The type setting accepts post or page. Say "as a page" for landing pages or evergreen content, and "as a post" for blog articles. Pages do not appear in your blog feed or RSS, while posts do, so choose based on where the content should show up on your site.

Can NanoClaw set a featured image on WordPress posts?

Yes. Send the image in chat or reference a file inside NanoClaw's container and it uploads it through Postiz, then passes it as main_image. WordPress uses it as the featured image for the post or page, which most themes show at the top and in archive listings.

Does this work with self-hosted WordPress and WordPress.com?

Postiz connects to WordPress over the REST API with an application password, which is available on self-hosted sites running WordPress 5.6 or newer. WordPress.com sites need a plan that enables application passwords and the REST API. Connect the site once in Postiz and NanoClaw uses that connection.

Can NanoClaw publish to WordPress on a schedule automatically?

Yes. Ask NanoClaw in chat for a recurring job, for example "every Monday at 9am publish the next draft from ~/blog/queue". It runs on that schedule inside its container and creates the post through Postiz. Keep a person reviewing drafts, and consider publishing as private first if you want a final check.
