This bold text generator converts plain text into ๐ฏ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ Unicode characters you can copy and paste into places that have no bold button: Facebook posts and comments, Instagram bios and captions, LinkedIn headlines, X (Twitter) posts, TikTok captions, Discord names and WhatsApp messages. Type your text, choose ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ, ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐, ๐ฝ๐ค๐ก๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ก๐๐, ๐๐ธ๐ต๐ญ ๐๐พ๐ป๐ผ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ or ๐ญ๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐, and click Copy. It is free and works in any browser.
How the bold text generator works
Social networks strip formatting from most text fields. Facebook has no bold toggle for posts, Instagram has none for bios, and X removes any rich text you paste. The way around it is Unicode. The Unicode standard includes a block called Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols that contains complete bold alphabets: sans-serif bold (๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฐ), serif bold (๐๐๐), bold italic (๐๐๐), bold script (๐ช๐ซ๐ฌ) and bold fraktur (๐๐๐). Each looks like a bold letter but is technically its own character, so any app treats it as normal text and displays it as-is.
The generator maps each letter and digit in your text to its bold counterpart. Spaces, punctuation and emoji stay unchanged. What you copy is plain text that happens to be made of bold-looking characters, which is why the bold survives in usernames, bios, comments and anywhere else formatting is normally lost.
How to use it
- Type or paste your text in the box above. Every bold style updates instantly.
- Pick a style. Sans-serif ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ is the safest and most readable on phones. ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ works well for headlines. ๐๐ธ๐ต๐ญ ๐๐พ๐ป๐ผ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ and ๐ญ๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐ are for names and aesthetic bios.
- Click Copy and paste into the post, bio or message. On mobile, long-press the field and tap Paste.
Where bold Unicode text works
- Facebook: posts, comments, page names, group descriptions and Marketplace listings. This is the most common use of a bold text generator, because Facebook has never offered bold in normal posts.
- Instagram: bios, display names, captions, comments and Notes. Bold headlines at the top of a caption stop the scroll.
- LinkedIn: headlines, About sections and posts. Use one bold line for a hook, not the whole post, since LinkedIn search ignores styled characters.
- X (Twitter): posts, display names and bios.
- Discord: display names, About Me, channel names and role names. Discord chat already supports **markdown bold**, but names and channel titles do not, which is where Unicode bold helps.
- TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, Telegram, Threads, Bluesky, Reddit: names, bios, captions and descriptions.
Styles included
The bold family contains: Bold, Bold Serif, Bold Italic, Bold Italic Serif, Bold Cursive, Bold Gothic, Bold Underline and Bold Strikethrough, plus decorated variants such as Bars Bold (โ๏ธป ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ ๏ธปโ), Gaming and Wings Gothic. If you want italics without bold, use the italic text generator, and for every other style visit the full font generator.
Best practices
- Bold the hook, not the body. A single bold first line in a Facebook or LinkedIn post improves readability. Five bold paragraphs do the opposite.
- Keep keywords plain. Hashtags, brand names and searchable terms should stay in normal letters. Platforms and Google index ๐ฏ๐ผ๐น๐ฑ letters as different characters, so a bold keyword will not match a search for the plain word.
- Stick to sans-serif bold on mobile. It is the closest to each platformโs native font and renders on nearly every device.
- Mind character limits. Most platforms count one Unicode bold letter as one character, but X counts some as two. Check with a character counter before posting.
Accessibility note
Screen readers read Unicode bold letters one at a time (โmathematical bold small b, mathematical bold small oโฆโ) or skip them entirely. Use bold Unicode for short emphasis and keep essential information in plain text. Very old devices can show boxes for these characters.
Frequently asked questions
Is the bold text generator free?
Yes. No signup, no limits, no watermark. Type, copy, paste.
How do I make bold text on Facebook?
Facebook posts do not have a bold button. Type your text here, copy the ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ version and paste it into the post box. It works in posts, comments, bios and Marketplace descriptions.
Will the bold text work in my Instagram bio?
Yes. Paste it into the Name or Bio field under Edit Profile. Instagram does not allow bold characters in the @username itself.
Why does my bold text show as boxes?
The readerโs device is missing that glyph. This is rare on phones from the last ten years. Sans-serif ๐๐ผ๐น๐ฑ has the widest support.
Does bold Unicode text count against character limits?
Usually one character per letter. X (Twitter) counts most mathematical alphanumeric characters as two, so a 280-character bold post holds about 140 letters.
Can I combine bold with other styles?
Yes. Bold Underline, Bold Strikethrough, Bold Italic and Bold Cursive are already in the list, and you can paste bold output into the strikethrough generator to stack effects.
