What should you know before posting to Pinterest from Claude Cowork?

Cowork handles these rules for you, but knowing them explains why it sometimes asks a follow-up question before scheduling.

✓An image is required for every pin and must be uploaded through Postiz first; Cowork does this when you name the file.
✓board is required and takes the board ID. Cowork looks it up from your board list when you say the board name.
✓Pin titles are limited to 100 characters. The link is what opens when someone clicks the pin.
✓dominant_color is an optional hex value for the pin's placeholder color; it does not change the image.

Can pins created from Cowork link back to my website?

Yes. Give Cowork the destination URL and it sets the link field on the pin, so clicks go to your blog post or product page. Pins with a working link are how Pinterest drives referral traffic, so include the URL in the request whenever possible.

Is this different from posting to Pinterest with Claude Code?

The pin settings and results are identical. Claude Code is Anthropic's terminal agent and connects to Postiz with a claude mcp add command or the Postiz CLI. Claude Cowork is the desktop agent, so Postiz is added as a connector and Cowork can grab the image from a local folder.

Can Cowork generate the pin image as well?

Yes, when Postiz is added through the custom MCP link, which includes Postiz image generation tools. Ask Cowork for a vertical pin graphic with your headline, then have it pin the result to a board. The official directory connector does not include image generation.
