Perplexity Computer can schedule and send Discord channel messages through Postiz. Connect Postiz as a custom MCP connector in Perplexity or install the Postiz CLI skill, then name the server channel and describe the message. Computer resolves the channel id, attaches any images or files, and schedules the announcement or update through the Postiz Discord bot.

How to set up Postiz for Discord in Perplexity Computer

Setup takes two steps: add Postiz as a custom MCP connector in Perplexity (OAuth, no API key) or install the Postiz CLI skill, then connect your Discord account in Postiz. After that, you just ask.

Discord rules Perplexity Computer has to respect

Discord enforces a few rules on every post. Postiz exposes them as settings, and Perplexity Computer applies them, but knowing them helps you phrase the request.

✓channel is required and takes the Discord channel id, not the channel name; Computer maps names to ids from the settings.
✓The Postiz bot must be in the server with permission to post in the channel you target.
✓Discord messages are limited to 2,000 characters; ask for a thread of messages when you need more.

Add Postiz as a custom remote connector in Perplexity settings with the MCP URL https://mcp.postiz.com/mcp-oauth-dynamic and OAuth, and connect your Discord server in Postiz so its bot can post. Then ask Computer to send a message to a channel by name; it resolves the channel id and schedules it.

Does Perplexity Computer need my Discord channel id?

You can just name the channel. Postiz exposes the server's channels in the Discord integration settings, so Computer looks up the id for #announcements or #general itself and fills the channel field. If a name is ambiguous, it lists the matching channels and asks you to confirm.

Can Perplexity Computer send scheduled or recurring Discord announcements?

Yes. A one-off message can be scheduled for any time through Postiz. For recurring posts, Computer's Scheduled Tasks run in Perplexity's cloud on a cadence you confirm, at most hourly, so a weekly recap or daily tip to a channel is a single request.
