What Slack rules should the agent follow?

Slack rejects posts that break its limits, so the agent needs these constraints up front. Put them in the task or in your Paperclip agent's instructions.

✓channel is required and takes the Slack channel ID (for example C0123456789), not the #name. The agent can look it up through Postiz.
✓The Postiz Slack app must be invited to private channels before it can post there. Public channels work once the app is installed.
✓Slack renders basic formatting like bold and links. Ask the agent to keep messages short; long reports work better as attachments.
✓Files, images, and PDFs are uploaded through Postiz first, then attached to the message.

How do I post to Slack from Paperclip?

Does Paperclip need a Slack bot token?

No. Postiz holds the Slack app connection, authorized once in the Postiz dashboard. Paperclip agents authenticate to Postiz only, with an API key or postiz auth:login. That keeps Slack credentials out of agent environments while still letting every agent in your org post through Postiz.

Can a Paperclip agent post to a private Slack channel?

Yes, after you invite the Postiz app to that channel in Slack. Once invited, the agent can target it by channel ID like any public channel. If a post fails with a not-in-channel error, that invitation is usually the missing step.

Can Paperclip post agent reports to Slack automatically?

Yes, and it is a common Paperclip pattern. An analytics agent pulls numbers (for example Postiz analytics for the week), a writer agent turns them into a short summary, and the publisher posts it to Slack through Postiz on a heartbeat schedule. Approvals can gate it if needed.
