Slack limits and gotchas to know

Slack messages through Postiz go to one channel at a time, so keep these details in mind.

✓channel is required and is a Slack channel ID (for example C12345). Claude Code can list channels and resolve the name for you.
✓The Postiz Slack app must be a member of the channel you target.
✓Media is uploaded through Postiz, so reference a file path or URL in your request.
✓Claude Code asks for permission before posting, which keeps accidental messages out of busy channels.

How do I post to Slack from Claude Code?

Add the Postiz MCP server to Claude Code, sign in to Postiz with OAuth, and connect your Slack workspace in Postiz. Then tell Claude Code the channel and the message. It resolves the channel ID, writes or formats the text, uploads any attachment, and sends or schedules the message through Postiz.

Can Claude Code post to Slack from a CI pipeline?

Yes. Call claude -p with a prompt from a pipeline step, for example summarizing failing tests from a log file and posting to #dev. Claude Code reads the file, drafts the message, sends it through Postiz, and exits. The Postiz MCP server or skill must be configured on the runner.

How does Claude Code find the Slack channel ID?

Slack channels in Postiz are addressed by ID, such as C12345. Ask Claude Code which Slack channels Postiz can post to and it lists them with names, then picks the one you mean. If the name is ambiguous, it asks rather than guessing, and it requests permission before sending.

Can Claude Code schedule recurring Slack messages?

Yes. Describe the schedule, such as every other Thursday at 1:45pm for six weeks, and Claude Code creates the individual scheduled messages through Postiz. Each one appears in your Postiz calendar and can be edited or cancelled later, either in Postiz or by asking Claude Code.
