Telegram Settings Reference

Telegram uses a minimal configuration. Once your bot is connected, Hermes Agent routes messages to the right channel or group — there is nothing else to set.

Postiz validates every Telegram post before it is scheduled, so these limits and required settings decide whether a request succeeds.

▸Postiz posts through a Telegram bot you create with BotFather. The bot must be an admin of the channel or a member of the group.
▸Text messages are limited to 4,096 characters and media captions to 1,024 characters.
▸Telegram needs almost no settings. Only __type is used when you pass settings at all, so Hermes rarely needs to ask follow-ups.
▸Media must be uploaded with postiz upload before Hermes can attach it.

No. Telegram is one of the chat apps you can use to talk to Hermes Agent through its messaging gateway. Posting to Telegram via Postiz is Hermes publishing a scheduled message to a channel or group. You can do both: message Hermes on Telegram and ask it to post to your public channel.

Are there settings Hermes Agent must set for Telegram posts?

Very few. Telegram posts in Postiz only use __type: telegram when settings are passed, so Hermes mostly needs the message text, optional media, and a time. The main constraints are Telegram's own limits: 4,096 characters for text and 1,024 for media captions.
