What should you know before posting to Discord from Claude Cowork?

Cowork handles these rules for you, but knowing them explains why it sometimes asks a follow-up question before scheduling.

✓channel is required and takes the Discord channel ID, not the #name. Cowork resolves the name from your channel list.
✓Discord messages are limited to 2,000 characters. Longer content is split or trimmed; ask Cowork to confirm.
✓The Postiz bot must be in the server and allowed to post in the channel, which you set up once when connecting Discord in Postiz.
✓Media is uploaded through Postiz before sending. Name the files and Cowork handles it.

How do I post to Discord from Claude Cowork?

Does Claude Cowork need a Discord webhook or bot token?

No. Postiz connects to your server with its own bot when you add Discord in the Postiz dashboard, and Cowork talks to Postiz through OAuth. You never handle tokens or webhooks, and you can remove the Postiz bot from the server at any time to revoke access.

Can Cowork post to several Discord channels at once?

Each Postiz Discord channel maps to one server channel, so connect each channel you post to in Postiz. Then ask Cowork to send the same announcement to #announcements and #general, and it creates a post per channel in one request with the same or different wording.

Is this different from posting to Discord with Claude Code?

The Postiz side is identical. Claude Code is Anthropic's terminal agent and connects with a claude mcp add command or the Postiz CLI. Claude Cowork is the desktop agent, so Postiz is added as a connector and Cowork can pull the message body from a local file or Google Drive.

Can I schedule recurring Discord messages from Cowork?

Yes. Cowork has scheduled tasks that run in the cloud on a schedule you set, so you can ask it to post a weekly digest to Discord every Monday. Each run drafts the message from your source and schedules it through Postiz without you starting the task.
